    Antique Blown Molded Glass "Elongated Star" Whale Oil Lamp, Patrick Slane,The South Boston Glass Co., Boston, MA., c. 1854 - 1856. This small lamp is a very fine and early example with blown molded construction. The shaped font has an "Elogated Star" pattern. The font is joined to the base with a single wafer. The base is square with a curved shape to the foot. This beautiful little lamp is similar to the lamp in Kaiser's book, "Glass Industry in South Boston", illustrated on page 90. This is a rare little gem! I offer this blown molded glass lamp here with a Buy It Now. Good luck! DIMENSIONS: The lamp measures 7 3/8" H. (top of collar) x 2 3/4" Dia at the font, x 2 13/16" at the square base. CONDITION: The lamp is in very good condition with some roughness the base and also the expected wear and imperfections often found in early flint glass of this period.
