Antique Sandwich Glass "Star & Punty" Clear Glass Whale Oil Lamp, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., c. 1840 - 1870. This beautiful clear glass whale oil lamp is a wonderful example of Antique Sandwich glass. Also called, "Ring and Star", this is one of the most popular patterns manufactured at the Sandwich factory. This Star & Punty lamp is listed in "A Guide to Sandwich Glass Whale Oil Lamps and Accessories" by Barlow and Kaiser, plate # 2118, where a single lamp in this pattern in clear glass was valued at 0 back in 1987. This Sandwich glass Star + Punty lamp is offered here with no reserve and a Buy It Now. SIZE: The whale oil lamp is approximately 10 5/8" H. (top of collar), x 3 1/4" Dia. at the font and 4 1/2" Dia. at the hexagonal base. CONDITION: The condition of the lamp is very good with minimal wear to the rim and to the underside of the base.
