    Description

    Offered for sale is a very nice antique pressed flint glass lacy salt manufactured by the Stourbridge Flint Glass Works of Pittsburgh, PA during the early 1800s.  The salt is in the form of a boat and this is Neale number BT 2.  The salt measures 3 1/4" in length and stands about 1 1/2" tall and the Pittsburgh name is embossed on the rear of the salt.
    The overall condition of the salt is very good to excellent.  There is standard roughness to the top rim with one chip to the base rim and some roughness to the rudder as well.  The clarity is excellent with no cloudiness and the pattern details are very strong.  You can expect to find the standard imperfections associated with older glass to include annealing lines, inclusions, air bubbles, etc.
